Friday escapades!

Today was a massively amazing! Ready for a quick run down? Hold on because we went BIG! :)

Barb and I were up a little early because we didn't reset our clock (Belize is in our time zone but doesn't follow daylight savings)... So we headed down to the restaurant an hour early. Gave us time to drink some coffee and talk about the days for VBS! It was nice to just have a slower morning...

We met about the meals and Ken and Deacon David met with the banker, all before 10:30.

We found a person to rent us van and Geoffery took us to Santa Familia primary school. They were just finishing up their annual testing... This is a much smaller community and much smaller school than Santa Elena primary school. We literally just showed up, introduced ourselves (Pat and Deacon had been there to visit briefly in January, but didn't get to meet the principal), and we were literally greeted like family. Amazing the cultural difference between here and the States. Our school may have gone into complete lock down if five strange people showed up to our door... :)

This is the library.

This is their playground. They said it is usually very muddy so only the kids with rubber boots can play there most of the time.

The kids in a 'kindergarten' class. (Reminders: explain their testing and the song they sang)

After this the principal let us (again people he'd never met) take the keys to the church (which is a 10 minute walk away) to go look at the sound system...

After figuring that out, we returned the keys and headed onto the next big adventure... Spanish Lookout.

This is a Mennonite community that is like a little metropolis in the middle of nowhere! Anyway the community shuts down all work from 11:30 until 12:30 for lunch. All the stores close and of course that is when we arrived into town...so we had lunch at Western Dairy. Pizza and an ice cream cone were what we had. The cows are literally in the back pasture, so fresh to say the least.

Then we stopped at a hardware store and bought some supplies for the maintenance team. In and out fairly quick...

Then we went to this massive Sam's type store... Bought supplies and more supplies... Felt good to mark off things from the list! Pat and I went to the little bitty post office attached to the store where there is a glass door and the woman slides a very small square door of glass to talk to you. They keep their stamps in a file folder... They are still lick and stick type.

We then drove out to talk to someone about the large sheets of metal roofing for the seminary. They took care of that and we zoomed back to San Ignacio to fill up with gas and on to the next stop... The mattress company... Confirmed that order and came back to the home front! Windy Hill!

Barb, Pat and I sorted out rooms and Ken and David swam. Went down for dinner at 6:30 and came back up to our rooms by 9... Barb and I just finished getting more organized for VBS and the lights are off... Must close for now...

(Reminders: horse at the school, dive team group, prayer answered)

Pure beauty!

Love to all and thanks for your prayers!
